With the rapid replacement of electronic products, the world generates over 50 million tons of electronic waste annually, making China one of the world's largest producers of e-waste. This e-waste contains precious metals such as gold, silver, and palladium, as well as toxic substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium. Open-air incineration or simple landfilling would cause serious environmental pollution and waste resources. Modernized Processing Process
The e-waste treatment plant utilizes an automated crushing and sorting system: First, hazardous components such as batteries and display screens are manually disassembled and separated. A two-stage crushing machine then pulverizes the material to 10-50mm particles. Eddy current separators, magnetic separators, and electrostatic separators are then used to precisely separate various metal and non-metal materials. Finally, hydrometallurgical techniques are used to extract high-purity precious metals. The entire system is equipped with advanced dust removal and exhaust gas treatment equipment to ensure environmental compliance throughout the entire process.
Resource Recovery and Economic Value
E-waste is a valuable "urban mine": each ton of used mobile phones contains approximately 280 grams of gold, 80 times more than gold ore; each ton of circuit boards contains up to 200 kilograms of copper, with significant concentrations of other metals such as aluminum and tin. Modern processing plants can achieve a resource recovery rate of over 95%, extracting recycled materials worth 3,000 to 6,000 yuan from each ton of e-waste. Precious metal recovery is a major source of economic benefit, accounting for over 60% of total output.
Environmental Benefits and Sustainable Development
The construction of e-waste processing plants brings significant environmental benefits: every ton of e-waste processed in a standardized manner reduces carbon emissions by 4 tons, conserves hundreds of tons of virgin mineral resources, and prevents toxic contamination of soil and water sources. For example, a processing plant with an annual processing capacity of 30,000 tons can reduce carbon emissions by 120,000 tons, recover over 20,000 tons of metal materials, and generate economic benefits exceeding 100 million yuan. This "waste-to-treasure" model not only addresses environmental pollution but also promotes the development of a circular economy, making it a key practice in achieving sustainable development.
